Coming off the back of turning heads at the 2026 Cronulla Jazz & Blues Festival, Kim Girdlestone Band and Horse Drawn Cadillac bring a heavy dose of blues, soul and roots-driven groove to The Brass Monkey. Kicking things off, Glenn Whitehall lays down a soul-soaked opening solo set.

Get in early, stay late…One stage 3 outstanding acts. Don’t miss this…

Cronulla’s own Kim Girdlestone returns to the Monkey stage bringing her signature Daisy-Chain Blues. With her full band in tow, her soulful, heartfelt songs bloom into rich roots-rock grooves. Recently featured on 7NEWS as part of Sydney’s live music revival, the band seem to be making their mark on the scene. On stage she’ll be joined by long-time collaborator Gavin Moar (Cote Guitars), along with Alex Spango on drums and George Rigatos on bass. Together they deliver a live experience fuelled by raw energy and expressive playing. Shaped by years of live experience, Kim’s warmth and commanding presence is evident on stage, having shared line-ups with artists like Pacey, King & Doley, Matt Corby, and The Pleasures, and she was a finalist in the 2024 Sydney Blues Society Blues Challenge.

Kim has much more than a voice on her side she’s a true artist, a crafter of songs that hearken back to the classic traditions of blues and soul ~ Laura Katulka, Sounds of Oz

Mixing an ever-evolving batch of homegrown originals with a few rare hidden gems from deep within the vault of musical treasures, Horse Drawn Cadillac (HDC) makes you feel like you are on a wayward journey to New Orleans via Chicago - a bump and roll ride with some high-octane horses. A big band powered by a duo of soulful and gritty singers and driven by players with a Cadillac full of stage experience. Built for "all on the floor, bring your happy feet and let's celebrate! HDC's new album, WAYWARD EMOTIONS, geared for THE YEAR OF THE HORSE 2026, was engineered by Syd Green (19-Twenty/ Kasey Chambers). It’s an album expressing a suite of emotions, so the soundscapes are varied, from moody ballads, a little bit of soul, some southern sass and rockin’ chair blues, as the Cadillac pulls up at the monkey that’s when the party begins, C’mon in!!Y’all.

The players:
Tegan Portener (CLP
Pearl Noire (several!)
Nello - harmonica (Southerly Change /Benji and the Saltwater SSS/Big Erle)
Bootsie - Sax and flute (Galapagos Duck/ Dr. Gumbo. /winner of Sydney Blues Society Wind Instrumentalist OTY last 2 years)

Jonno Dallimore : Guitar (Cass Eager, Benji
Romie Olivares-Panucci: Guitar (JJ Spence

Illawarra-based singer-songwriter Glenn Whitehall’s music draws on rich traditions of Southern US soul, rhythm & blues, rock and funk. He’s known for his soulful vocal tone, guitar prowess, songwriting and commanding stage presence. A familiar face on the live music circuit, Glenn is also the front man of SacredCrows. He’s shared stages with artists including Jose Feliciano, Ray Beadle, Javier Vargas, Eugene "Hideaway" Bridges, Jack Jones, Mi-Sex, Russell Morris, Richard Clapton, Boyz II Men and Aodhan.
