Matthew James Lyons celebrates the release of his new album Somewhere in Between, with a live show that will draw you deep into his world. The album is a collection of deeply personal songs that explore the fragile balance of hope and despair that exists within relationships and the individual trials of the human condition.

From intimate moments to melodic rootsy-rockers, the show will travel through the emotional landscape of the new album and Lyons’ back catalogue. Backed by a full live band featuring Lyons’ long-time collaborators (and Shire muso stalwarts) Lee Carey (Unlocking the Doors), Matt Collins (Grizzly McDuff), Andy Peacock (singer-songwriter) and Andrew Webb (Max Music Collective), Andy Peacock and Andrew Webb, this will be more than an album launch – it promises to be a one-night experience celebrating the music, the community, and the sentiments behind the project.

Informed by the singer-songwriter tradition, Lyons embodies thoughtful and reflective writing that is equally intimate and evocative. His live performances confirm the intimacy of his songwriting, delivering his songs with raw emotion and fragility, stirring audiences into a shared connectedness.
Matthew James Lyons has shared the stage with the likes of Jon Auer (Posies/Big Star), Christine Anu, Youth Group & Matthew Barber (Canada). He was included on the Sydney Blues & Roots Festival list of artists in 2012. He was a semi-finalist in the Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition in 2018. His 2021 shows for the release of his album, Relics, were a sellout. His songs have received airplay on ABC Country and Australian and international community radio.
